It’s been over a week since I last posted here and I’m pretty sure the last time that happened I didn’t have a blog yet. Nevertheless, I do have recipes to give you and words of wisdom to share.

Well, maybe not wisdom, per se, but I do have words to share. Oh, I’ve got lots of them.

Except I’m going to make you wait until later this week for new content and if you’re already following me on one of my bazillion social networks, I’m also going to make you sit through a post in which I talk about what I did yesterday.

Sit tight. It’s shameless self-promotion time!

If you’re not following me on one of my bazillion social networks, then it’s news to you that yesterday I had the honor of being a guest on a cooking segment on ABC 7 Chicago’s 11a.m. newscast with Jose Sanders and Sylvia Perez.

We chatted about ways to use all of the fabulous farmers market produce you can take home this year, with an emphasis on fruit.

The whole time, all I could think was I wish this was my kitchen.

That’s actually not true. I was also thinking I hope I don’t cut myself on live TV and I hope my bra isn’t showing.

For the inquiring minds that want to know, here are the recipes that I talked about:

Just remember, the camera adds ten pounds.

Or maybe it’s twenty.

Thanks to all my friends, family, readers and Facebook/Twitter pals for your great feedback and  wonderful, encouraging comments. Thanks to you, I was that much less humiliated when I watched myself on DVR.

Maris, I loved seeing you on ABC 7
Chicago. You were a pro on there and hope to see you again on the air soon! I’ve already tried the peach salsa brie bruschetta and as I thought, it was wonderful.
