In Good Taste is the ultimate online resource to help busy young professionals — and anyone who wishes there were more hours in the day — enjoy the simpler pleasures in life, beginning in the kitchen and at the dinner table. Whether it’s how to incorporate a little creativity into your next dinner party or helping you celebrate everyday occasions with a killer cocktail, In Good Taste is for you.

We want to inspire you to think bigger and better, beginning with a few of our favorite things — cooking, dining, fashion, beauty and more. It is our mission and hope for you to use In Good Taste to find new ideas, inspire you to try new things and turn every day into a special occasion. Because you deserve it.

Maris Callahan

After spending several years in fashion, food and beverage PR in New York and beginning a food blog in 2008, Maris made her way to Chicago where she started a public relations business and became the editor of a hyper local website.

With years of experience under her belt covering local and national food trends, Maris decided it was time to combine her efforts into one place. In early 2014, Maris launched In Good Taste to inspire people to enjoy life’s simplest pleasures, from a glass of wine paired with a delicious cheese to a night out with friends over tapas and sangria. Maris hopes to help take some of the intimidation out of cooking for people who are short on time, resources and experience in the kitchen.

Maris is a frequent guest on Chicago morning shows, where she showcases the best tips, recipes and products for cooking, dining and entertaining. Maris lives on the West side of Chicago where she loves cooking, entertaining, red wine, reluctantly training for half marathons, traveling and walking to the farmer’s market with her chihuahua, Henry. Leigh Loftus

In 2014, Leigh founded Loftus Inc., a forward-thinking photography agency based in Chicago. After spending 5 years as a freelance food photographer, she saw an opportunity to make a change in the industry for her clients and colleagues.  Currently, Leigh works with companies large and small on a consistent basis to produce custom photography congruent with their brands, and to help them enhance and expand brand recognition.

Luckily enough, she and Maris crossed paths and became fast friends over their love for food, cocktails, great wine and of course, entrepreneurship. Leigh contributes photography and photography consulting to In Good Taste on a regular basis and where noted.
