If you’re going to fuel up with a high protein snack, why not wash it down with something healthy too? Easy to make in the morning and bring to work in a travel cup, this avocado matcha smoothie is inspired by a beverage my coworker and I love to get at a local health food restaurant in the summer.
Avocado lends the perfect creaminess to the smoothie while matcha powder gives it a nutritional boost. Banana and honey tend to zap some of the green-ness out of this green smoothie, but don’t judge a book by a cover here: this is one smoothie worth the trouble of hand washing your blender when you’re done.
- ½ teaspoon matcha green tea powder
- ¾ cup milk (dairy/almond/coconut/whatever you have)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 banana
- ½ avocado
- Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Enjoy!
