Eventi Hotel, a NYC Chelsea hotel surrounds guests with artful atmosphere, luxury accommodations and easy access to Manhattan.
I’ve said it here before, but it deserves another mention: I love hotels. There is something delicious and luxurious about sleeping in a big fluffy bed that you don’t have to make in the morning, using tiny, travel-sized toiletries and the ability to have a meal delivered to your door that you can (and should) eat in bed. Eventi Hotel, a Kimpton hotel in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood, delivers on all counts.
I’m lucky that when I travel for business, my company lets us choose a comfortable, business-class hotel within a certain price range, and we’re never forced to stay someplace that doesn’t feel right.
For my first business trip at my job about a year ago, I picked a boutique hotel in New York City that looked darling on the website but upon check in, felt like a really good place to be serially murdered. I argued my way out of the 24-hour cancellation policy and with fingers crossed, opened up Hotel Tonight and sure enough, a solid looking Kimpton appeared at a reasonable rate.
When I got to this hotel, it was like angels singing. The first floor of Eventi Hotel is swanky and stylish, occupying an entire city block. It’s home to three new restaurants, two bustling bars and a really warm, inviting sitting area that feels like a super chic and successful artist’s living room.
The service was friendly and accommodating, and I’m not sure if it’s because I had come from a hotel where I think Norman Bates may have been lurking in one of the guest rooms, but even the ice water in the lobby was amazing. Being a Kimpton’s rewards member I used my ‘raid the minibar’ card to grab a much-needed glass of wine on the heels of my semi-harrowing hotel experience (yeah, I’m well aware of how incredibly absurd this sounds to more seasoned travelers).
Aside from guest rooms and bathrooms with modern interiors, plush bedding and thick curtains on the windows to block out the bustle of Manhattan overnight, the Eventi Hotel has a lot of little perks that make you feel more at home. Even staying here for business travel, you’ll feel like you’re on a mini vacation. The hotel offers complimentary PUBLIC bikes for guests, complimentary morning coffee and tea, and a hosted wine hour in the lobby living room from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. The bathrooms have Atelier Bloem products that are paraben, gluten and silicone-free and you can schedule an in-room blow out with Blo Blow Dry Bar ‘On The Go’ if you’re looking to get glam for an evening event.
The hotel has a few different bars serving up delicious cocktails year round, including The Vine, a lovely indoor/outdoor space that combines the ease of a hotel bar with the hip bustle of New York.
In the spring or summer, you can sip strawberry mojitos and cider shandies on the patio, and in the fall or winter, you can curl up with a spiced old fashioned by the fireplace. The hotel is also plenty equipped for event space, with its ‘Big Screen Plaza,’ a 15,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor multi-level public plaza with a 30-foot multimedia art screen or its fifth floor wrap around veranda with stunning city views.
