Another week, another Friday. Funny how that always happens.
This week, we unsurprisingly stumbled upon a number of patriotic goods, perfect for Fourth of July celebration preparation. If you forgot to get down with the red, white and blue this week, you have an entire summer ahead of you to celebrate the nation’s independence. ‘Merica!
Favorite T-Shirt
I took my pup to the Randolph Street Market last weekend, which I’d actually never been to before, something I am now ashamed to admit on public forum. It’s a fantastic place that feels as though the Renegade Craft Fair and a 1970’s estate sale had a baby. One booth is an old lady selling antiques and the next one is a charming letterpress stationery shop or a cleverly branded T-shirt shop. This Fourth of July t-shirt by Phoenix with Love were only one of my purchases, but by far my favorite.
Favorite Fast Casual Lobster Roll
We have talked before about one of New England’s best lobster rolls at Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery, Maine. Now what about those of you who can’t immediately get to Bob’s? Pret a Manger, ubiquitous for delicious grab-and-go breakfast and lunch fare, has brought back its seasonal Maine Lobster Roll and Maine Lobster Salad for the second year. Available in all U.S. Pret shops for the full summer season (through Labor Day), these American favorites will satisfy all your summertime lobster cravings — when you can’t get to New England.
Favorite Popsicle
Nothing I says ‘summer’ like watermelon. It also just so happens that watermelon and lime make for a tasty popsicle. Dunk & Crumble has been one of my favorite food blogs since I met Molly in New York eons ago (it was probably actually years, but it feels like eons). Check out her blog and then make these popsicles, tomorrow.
Favorite Barbecue
When you want to grill something quick, easy and more interesting than a boring and plain chicken breast, opt for chicken thighs. As easy to prepare as their boneless, skinless counterpart, chicken thighs have more fat and therefor, more flavor. Ever since I spotted these BBQ Chicken Thighs on Chez Us, they’re the only thing I want to eat. The Peach Rye Barbecue Sauce over there sounds all kinds of amazing, too.
Favorite Pup & Turtle Besties
So Puka and Rocket Larry have nothing to do with the Fourth of July, but they’re pretty effing adorable. Deal with it.
