With a new season comes new opportunities. By new opportunities, we mean new excuses to buy fresh makeup for the upcoming season.

With the help of Chicago beauty expert and makeup maven Morgan Byrne, we’re navigating the (often overwhelming) world of lipsticks and glosses  to bring you the top three lip colors you absolutely must give a go this season.

Now is the time to have fun with your makeup. After surviving quite possibly the coldest winter of your existence, the promise of spring is reason enough to celebrate.

Now, let’s let the partying begin with these three statement looks.

Hot Pink

Take a cue from Kate Bosworth and let your lips get girly in a very bold way.  Morgan Marie Beauty’s Madonna lipstick is perfectly pigmented to give you a bright shade that’s guaranteed to stay put, even during the rising temperatures of spring and summer. Byrne recommends pairing a hot pink lip with highlighted skin, a strong brow and a balanced eye. That’s beauty speak for eye makeup that’s of equal strength or boldness in relation to your lip color. This look isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s definitely worth the risk.

Peach

Sweet and sexy can blend beautifully, as evidenced by this flawless look on Elizabeth Olsen. To achieve a fresh peach lip color like the Olsen sister du jour, Morgan says Morgan Marie Beauty’s Goldie shade will do the trick. As for the rest of the face? Complement your light-colored lips with bronzed skin and blush in a matching peach shade. Opt for a soft eye, which consists of light colored shadows, soft eyeliner and mascara. Here’s a look that let’s you make a statement without saying too much.

Glossy Orange-Red

Our favorite semi-permanent Chicago resident (and hit star of hit NBC’s Chicago PD) rocks the glossy orange-red lip like a seasoned pro. To get on Sophia Bush’s level this spring, Morgan recommends layering two products, such as a bright red lipstick like her Marilyn shade and her shiny gloss in the Gina hue.  To complete the look, focus on the eyes: soft bronze shadow, top liner and a generous amount of mascara. Et voila, you’ve achieved Detective Lindsay’s fiery look. Unfortunately, her trademark raspy voice is not included. We’re still working on the secret to that.

As if you weren’t excited enough about the onset warmer weather, we’ve given you three more reasons to welcome spring. Just like you plan to embrace the new season with open arms, we recommend you do the same to these fresh colors. After all, there’s nothing like the feeling of totally owning a statement look. It’s almost strut-inducing, and who doesn’t love a good strut now and then?
