Almost one year ago, I accepted a full-time job after nearly five years of self-employment. The thought of waking up every day to go into an office and sit at a desk all day was a little terrifying at first, mollified mainly by the idea that I would need to buy a new work wardrobe to replace my yoga pants and sweaters. On my first day, my boss told me to try not to be overwhelmed, because “your first week should be about setting up your computer, learning how to use the VPN and finding the coffee machine.”

At this point I should mention that there are five people in our loft-style office and there is only one place the coffee machine would conceivably be.

My point is that when you start a new job, coffee is going to be your best friend. Even bosses think so. And after one (or two…or three…) sip(s), so will NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer.

Even now that I’ve been settled into my role at work for close to a year, sometimes the afternoon just calls for caffeine. When the weather cooperates, it’s always nice to get out for a walk in the afternoon, but sometimes a hot cup of coffee is more appropriate. NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer’s Chocolate Boutique flavors are creamy, indulgent and full of three of the most beloved dessert flavors: Cafe Mocha (omg, yes), Salted Caramel Chocolate (omg, yes), and Chocolate Toffee Truffle (can I get another omg?).

If you want to sip your own way to indulgence (and why would you not?), you can buyNESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer’s Chocolate Boutique flavors at Walmart or your local grocery store, using this $0.75 offering via Ibotta.

You can find these in the refrigerated section of Walmart, near where you would ordinarily buy milk, cream and other dairy products.

How to Make a New Job Care Package

The Chocolate Boutique flavors are special enough to gift, too, and are perfect to include in a care package for someone who has either just received a new job offer or for a girlfriend or colleague who was recently promoted. Pull together a special care package full of goodies and leave it on your colleague’s desk or send it to your girlfriend or loved one’s workplace.

What You Need

  • A pretty gift bag
  • Tissue paper
  • NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer
  • A special coffee mug
  • A fun, inspirational notebook
  • Fancy paper clips, push pins or other desk supplies
  • Sweet treats (I made my favorite chocolate chip cookies)
  • A letter tray to hold everything together
  • Pens and a notepad or sticky notes
  • Handmade stationary

To pull your gift together, simply pick a pretty gift bag wide enough to fit a letter tray along the bottom. Assemble each of your items on the letter tray in the order you want them to be opened. Use extra tissue paper to wrap glass items, like coffee mugs. If you’re delivering the gift to someone’s office, I like to hang a gift tag on the handle that says “PERISHABLE” so that the recipient will know to refrigerate the coffee creamers.

Make Handmade Stationary

My friend Kelley, who loves to DIY, made me handmade stationary for Christmas this past year and I think it’s the perfect workplace gift too. It can be inexpensive once you have the materials you need and it’s highly customizable, so if you find yourself gifting it repeatedly you won’t feel like you’re being too redundant.

Pick up alphabet stamps plus whatever design you like — a martini glass or flowers are fun ones to gift your girlfriends — and a couple of different color ink pads. You’ll also need plain white notecards and envelopes, which generally come in sets. Some stores sell them in bulk if you’re planning to make a lot or if you have several people to buy for.

Set the notecards on a table or other flat surface and use your stamps to create whatever design you like. Let them dry for the amount of time dictated on the ink pad — different brands and types of inks will vary.
