Every time I have an intelligent, semi-intelligent, or even a thought that’s only amusing to me, I then think to myself “I should really start a blog.”
A few weeks ago when I was telling a friend that I quote “liked to write but wasn’t really sure what to do with it” he said I should start a blog.
The first hurdle was that I couldn’t think of what to actually call my blog.
There are so many out there with clever, creative titles like Smitten Kitchen and The Wednesday Chef, (can you tell I like to read about food).
I don’t have a quirky, fun title so if you have any ideas, feel free to throw them my way.
I’m not an expert at anything – cooking, art, politics – or any of the topics that people usually have lots to say about.
BUT I do know a little bit about a lot and I’m always learning new things – this morning I learned that the one and only time that there won’t be a wait for the tiny laundry room in my 15-unit walk-up is the morning of Memorial Day, when it also happens to be 80 degrees and sunny.
Every day I learn big things – grown-up stuff, like why it’s good to enroll in your company’s 401K plan now, rather than waiting until I can “afford it,” as well as little things – like which side the doors will open first on the subway, how to send a package through “inter-office mail” to someone in Chicago, that a pint of vanilla ice cream really isn’t that much to eat in one sitting and that just because you can’t actually see dust on the top shelf of your bookshelf doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
Yup. Welcome to my glamorous life.
