You’re well traveled and you like luxury accommodations, but you haven’t quite reached the point in your career where you’re ready to spring for luxury prices, right? WestHouse Hotel New York is the solution to your travel woes. A sophisticated boutique property among luxury hotels in New York City, WestHouse Hotel New York aims, and succeeds, at being your house away from home.
Walkable from Central Park but a respectable distance from the chaos of Times Square, WestHouse Hotel New York evokes the feeling of a private club, with its newest feature, The Terrace, boasting a kitchen and open dining room, private dining room, lounge and alfresco terrace. While the entire property offers chic design, inviting creature comforts, and of course, the coveted outdoor real estate, the amenities at WestHouse are reserved for guests only, lending a truly unique and completely private vibe to the art deco inspired space.
One of the most unique perks for guests staying at the WestHouse is its generous array of services and curated amenities included in the daily Residents’ Fee ($35). Residents can enjoy a daily European-style breakfast, afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres (think: unlimited wine, cheese and charcuterie), evening canapés, beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic), and Barista crafted coffees, WiFi and local calls, 24-hour business center services, in-room water selection, and choice of daily digital newspapers and magazines.
Though most hotels offer amenities, rarely are they as high quality or is the service as personalized as it is at the WestHouse. Even the basics, like the plush in-room bathrobes, silky soft linens and room selections to fit any size party, this is a great place to enjoy a leisurely visit to Manhattan. If you’re going to be out and about so much that you don’t see the property in the light of day, don’t waste a stay in such an outstanding space.
Though during my January stay, the highlight of the property was easily the daily wine, cheese and charcuterie that the hotel offers between 5:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m., I might change my tune if I were a guest during the summer months. The hotel’s terrace is unlike any other New York City hotel bar, usually touting amazing views, but overpriced drinks and a questionable clientele, The Terrace’s expansive 23rd floor outdoor space offers panoramic Manhattan views and all the perks of the hotel from breakfast presentations to evening canapés in an exclusively private venue that doesn’t cost four figures.
“At WestHouse, our guests really are our number one priority,” Karla Keskin, General Manager, WestHouse Hotel New York, told Luxury Travel Magazine. “Unlike other hotel rooftops and lounges, where guests may find they just another customer amongst the public, if they can get in at all, WestHouse’s Terrace is exclusively for those who are staying with us. We are delighted to give our guests access to some of the most coveted outdoor space, breathtaking views, and thoughtfully curated experiences with the opening of The Terrace.”
