Puree strawberries in a blender until they reach a smooth consistency. They might also be a little frothy, which is fine. Add the rum, sugar and lime juice. Add crushed ice to the top of the blender leaving about 1½ inches of room. Blend until liquefied.
Pour into the glasses and garnish each glass with a cocktail umbrella, if desired. Makes 4 cocktails.
