		<description><![CDATA[<p>This pumpkin penne recipe is delicious and simple, made with a creamy pumpkin sauce, pumpkin spices and Parmesan cheese.  Working in public relations, for me, means staying in the know about emerging media outlets, and trends. So in 2008, when parenting blogs became all the rage, I suddenly found myself doing a lot of reading about teething, diapers and little Madeline&#8217;s first day of second grade. Even though I&#8217;m not a parent, parenting blogs often provide useful information.   By &#8220;useful information,&#8221; I obviously mean &#8220;recipes.&#8221; I&#8217;m not ashamed to admit that the recipe you&#8217;re about to read is the a recipe from Parents magazine. I couldn&#8217;t find the recipe on Parents&#8217; site, so I did some casual Googling and found it on a new-to-me parent blog. I did make several tweaks. Though the original recipe calls for penne, I have made this with multiple pasta varieties including fusilli and fettuccine. that worked out just as well. You can add a handful or two of fresh spinach to up the nutritional ante here &#8212; or you can skip it and serve alongside an arugula salad with pear and blue cheese. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes life calls for celebration. In America, we tend to use food and beverage as a means for celebration. I can&#8217;t think of the last time I attended a birthday party, graduation, anniversary or holiday get-together that didn&#8217;t involve consuming a larger-than-normal amount of baked brie or white sangria. Amidst so much celebrating and indulging sometimes we yearn for simplicity. When our weekends are packed with brunches and happy hours, chocolate cake and chips and guacamole, weeknights call for healthy, simple dinners. Most of us know that pasta is answer to the quick, nutritious meal, especially if you prepare whole wheat pasta, some of which provide some of your daily fiber requirement and even omega-3s What a lot of people don&#8217;t know is that you can make your own savory sauce in nearly the same amount of time it takes you to unscrew the top of a jar and pour it into a microwave-safe bowl. Unlike heavy cream sauces, tomato based sauces contain fiber and antioxidants without adding calories. Arrabbiata literally translates to mean &#8220;angry&#8221; in Italian but despite it&#8217;s name, is quite pleasant to make and to eat. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>In the summer, one of my favorite activities is dining and drinking outdoors. Whether it&#8217;s a rooftop lounge, a sidewalk cafe or a balcony overlooking a parking lot, there is something that just feels good about the warm summer breeze that makes the city air seem less polluted, fresher, hopeful. There is also something that feels even better than eating and drinking in the above warm summer breeze. As much as I like being outside, I wouldn&#8217;t call myself outdoors-y. I&#8217;ve never been camping, I would rather get a massage than go for a hike and I would probably need to be bribed with large sums of cash in order to spend a significant amount of time in an environment where I&#8217;d have limited access to running water and indoor plumbing. In the spring and summer, I tend to do two things: eat lunch or dinner outdoors as often as possible and avoid heavy, cheese-laden, baked pasta dishes that can weigh you down. I mean, sure, I guess I eat them when they&#8217;re put in front of me, but let&#8217;s think about it. Not too many people sit poolside eating lasagna. I do think pasta is a good summertime dinner, [&#8230;]</p>
