Candy, costumes and parties punctuate a month when really, nothing else terribly exciting is happening. Sure, there are apples to eat and pumpkin pies to bake, but without Halloween, part of the festive spirit of Fall wouldn’t exist. And also, I would have one less excuse to make cupcakes. One of the most fun things about having friends with children is that you get to do all kinds of fun stuff that you wouldn’t ordinarily have an excuse to do, like play with legos and hang out on a hot summer afternoon in a blow-up kiddie pool. Not that I’ve done those things. You also get an excuse to make super fun, creative treats that you might never otherwise make on your own, like these Halloween cupcakes made with only three ingredients, including Fanta Orange soda and OREO cookies.
